More science lesson fun. This time we explored the school garden looking for signs of Spring…

We had a very interesting lesson looking at change in our science week lessons. We explored the lifecycle of a butterfly and then represented it with pasta and rice. 
 

What a fantastic day we have had in our pyjamas! All of our lessons today have been based around reading!

We have been busy learning a poem off by heart to perform in assembly this week. We have made props to support it.

We had a special tennis lesson this week with two coaches coming to school so we could learn new skills. We had great fun taking a ball for a walk, bouncing a ball on a racket as well as throwing and catching over the net.

We have been learning about Henri Rousseau in Year 1. This week we experimented using differing surfaces to collage a picture. We had some very creative results. Well done year 1S. 
 

We had a wonderful day observing the animals at Blackpool Zoo. We were able to use our newly learnt vocabulary of herbivore, carnivore and omnivore as well as finding animals that were mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians!

We are working on sharing and taking turns in year 1. It isn’t slays easy for us! Why not play some games at home to keep working on it?

We have been looking at ways people celebrate Christmas around the world. In Nigerian some families weave palm fronds. We didn’t have any of those so we used festive colours to make a weave picture. The children really impressed me, their weaving skills were fantastic.

Year 1 thoroughly enjoyed their Christmas Party and really enjoyed their special visitor. There was lots of giggles, dancing and games!
