Mrs Kendall is the Geography Subject Leader at The Blessed Sacrament Catholic Primary School. Geography is part of our Humanities Faculty which is also led by Mrs Kendall.
Geography in our school develops children’s knowledge and skills about places and environments through the study of innovative topics. Lessons equip pupils with knowledge about diverse places, people, resources and natural and human environments. Children will also explore topics concerning the quality of the environment and are encouraged to think about their values, rights and responsibilities to other people and for the care of the earth. Fieldwork is of upmost importance and helps to enhance learning and understanding of the world around us.
Geographic vocabulary is embedded throughout and well planned into every unit. It is progressive within every year group to ensure for secure understanding.
