Y1S maths - quarters
We have been learning fractions in maths. To help us understand that quarter means four equal parts we cut up bread slices. It was a tasty learning opportunity!
Y1S Holi
We have been marking festivals and celebrations of other faiths in school. Here we learnt about the festival of Holi. We made a colourful tree and sampled some food.

We all enjoy our PE lessons. We have been working on our under and over arm throws this half term.
The Library Bus Visit
The library bus came to visit! Our school librarians had great fun choosing the new books for the next 12 months. There was even story time for some children too.

We had a very interesting lesson looking at change in our science week lessons. We explored the lifecycle of a butterfly and then represented it with pasta and rice.

Tennis Y1S
We had a special tennis lesson this week with two coaches coming to school so we could learn new skills. We had great fun taking a ball for a walk, bouncing a ball on a racket as well as throwing and catching over the net.
