Year 2 have started to learn about the religion Judaism. We have made a really good start and are excited to see what else we can find out. 

Year 2S were able to explore various plants and trees as well plant their own pea plant. They also very much enjoyed their giant cookie for a snack!

We have done some fantastic traditional tale story writing in English in 2S. 

In Science this half term we have planted and observed the growth our sunflower seeds. We have learnt about what seeds needs to germinate. Today we are going to take our plants home to keep them alive! 

Year 2 are really enjoying our gymnastics topic this term.

This week we have been experimenting with clay, creating tiles and pots. We used a range of equipment to design our clay in different ways. Next week we will be trying to create an African pot. 

We have started gymnastics in PE. We enjoyed rolling, rocking and rolling and travelling on benches in a straddle position.

We can’t believe it is the end of another term in year 2. 2S ended the term making chocolate nests to go in our Easter baskets. It was a lovely end to the work we have done to help us remember why Easter is a special time in the Catholic Church. 

As part of our science learning, we have been finding out about habitats. This week we planned an investigation to find out what a woodlouse habitat is like. Ask us what we have found out!

Year 2 have enjoyed tasting, designing and then making our own dips by chopping the ingredients and then blending them up safely. Mrs Southward was very impressed with our yummy guacamole but the salsa did end up a bit watery!

In year 2 we have celebrated science week through racing with a partner to find the correct animal for the adaptation clues. We also did some yoga, moving our bodies like sea creatures we saw at the sealife centre. In 2S we love being scientists!

We had a lovely day enjoying lots of stories and doing lots of story activities. We very much enjoyed ending the day in 2S with a cup of chocolate milk, a cookie and a bedtime story!
